Dear Southern Energy Credit Union Members,
It is an honor and a privilege to step into the role of President and CEO of Southern Energy Credit Union. Our members are at the heart of everything we do, and I am excited about the opportunity to serve you in this new capacity.
Over the past 23 years, I have had the privilege of serving Southern Energy in many areas, from operations and accounting to strategic planning. What has always inspired me is our unwavering member-first culture. As we look ahead, I remain dedicated to the values that define us—trust, service, and innovation—while embracing new opportunities to grow, enhance your experience, and expand the ways we can support your financial journey.
I am grateful to our Board of Directors for the trust placed in me, and I am committed to honoring that confidence as we move forward together into this next chapter of our Credit Union’s story.
I also want to recognize the remarkable leadership of Derrick Ragland, whose 43 years of service created the strong foundation we proudly stand on today.

I’m writing to share an important update about an upcoming leadership transition at your Credit Union.
After 43 years with the Credit Union, I have recently announced my retirement effective September 30, 2025. Our Board of Directors has appointed current Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Andy Rush, to serve as the next President and Chief Executive Officer effective October 1, 2025.
It’s been an incredible journey—working alongside an amazing team and serving a membership like no other over all these years. I’ve had the privilege of watching this Credit Union grow and innovate, while staying true to our values and member-first approach. I’ve also had the privilege of getting to know many of you, our members, and watch as you and your families achieve your goals and hit your milestones.
While I’m proud of the contributions I’ve made during my tenure, I could have never anticipated just how profoundly the Credit Union would shape and enrich my own life. I want to say thank you—for your trust, your support, and your belief in what we do here.
I’m excited to introduce Andy Rush as your incoming Chief Executive Officer of Southern Energy Credit Union. Andy is a leader who shares the Board’s vision and commitment to our membership. During his 23-year tenure with the Credit Union, Andy has worked in Accounting and Operations, developing expertise in strategic planning, operational excellence, and member-focused innovation. I have full confidence in his ability to guide our Credit Union into the future.
While your Credit Union’s leadership is changing, our mission remains the same: powering our members’ financial success with personalized service, trusted solutions, and a commitment to their long-term growth.
